Times Of Movement
1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset 7 days a week
Travel prohibited on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & day after, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day
Curfews: Movement not allowed on the interstate system in Oklahoma, Tulsa & Cleveland counties from 7-9am & 3:30-6:30pm M-F (not Sat & Sun)

2-lane highways:
Width over 12' up to 14'-1 front
Width over 14' 2 (front & rear)
Over 80' long-1 front
Over 100' long-2 (front & rear)
Height 15'9” or over-2 (front & rear)
Multi-lane highways:
Width over 12' up to 16'-1 rear
Width over 16' (on all highways and roads)-2 (front & rear)
Height 15'9” or over-2 (front & rear)
Height 15'9” or over must contact all public utilities and railroads along the route in advance of the move.
Mobile homes & boats on 2-lane highways & roads:
Over 80' long- 1 pilot
Width over 12' but not over 14'-1 front
Width over 14' but not over 16'-2 (front & rear).
On multi-lane highways:
Width over 14' but not over 16'-1 rear

Requirements for Pilot/Escort Vehicle
General: Pickup truck not less than ¼ ton rated load capacity or an automobile not less than 2000 lb.; properly licensed in OK or licensed in any other state if providing interstate escort services
Signs: “OVERSIZE LOAD” sign (5’ x 12”) w/ black letters (10” high x 1 1/2” brush stroke) on yellow background mounted in an appropriate location (determined by the load & location of escort)
Lights: Rotating or flashing amber beacon or flashing amber light bar system mounted on top (visible 500’); 10” in diameter min. X 8” high; Flags: red flags 12” square min. attached to standards angled upward at 45 degree angle; mounted on cabe and to uprigt standards on rear corners of vehicle
Additional equipment: 2-way radio transmitting over a distance of ½ mile min.; height pole; 10 lb. BC fire extinguisher or 2-5 lb. chemical fire extinguisher; 4-15 min. flares; 2 red hand-held flags or 4 reflective triangles; display on each side of vehicle w/ the name/city of escort company, the owner of vehicle, or both; a standard 18” “STOP”/”SLOW” paddle; orange hard hat; fluorescent orange vest; flashlight w/ 2 D-cell batteries; full-size spare tire w/ tire jack & lug wrench

Requirements for Pilot/Escort Vehicle Operator
Everyone who drives an escort vehicle for hire in the state of OK must be certified by DPS; must maintain a valid insurance policy issued by a surety or insurance company currently authorized to issue policies in OK; shall provide not less than $1,000,000 combined single limit coverage for bodily injury and/or property damage as a result of the operation of the escort vehicle, the escorted vehicle, or both (doesn’t  apply to any operator who operates only in intrastate/interstate commerce into or through states which don’t have escort vehicle certification or residents of another state which has a reciprocal agreement recognizing escort vehicle operator certifications issued by that state).  Such certification shall be exempt from the insurance requirements.  Oklahoma has entered into reciprocal
compacts and agreements with the following states for the purpose of recognizing escort vehicle operator certifications issued by those states:    Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, North Carolina, Utah, Virginia and Washington.
